Kyle Chapman - guitar, Bass, Ukulele

Kyle is a young and vibrant musician who has over a decade of playing and performing experience. His earliest performance experiences started in various local rock groups at the young age of 11 and have continued to the present day.

Currently undergoing his final year of jazz studies at San Fransisco State University under the private instruction of Michael Zisman (Cecil Payne, Junior Cook, George Coleman, Phil Woods, Jimmy Cobb, and many more), Kyle has shown expertise in both his studies and in the real music world. After being in the bay area for just six months Kyle has played venues all over San Fransisco including The Independent, The Rickshaw Stop, Bottom of The Hill, The Elbo Room, and various others. He currently plays and tours with newly emerging psych-rock band Young Elders. In addition, he plays professional freelance jazz gigs with other SFSU jazz majors. Kyle’s teaching accomplishments have been quite extensive in his five years of experience. At the young age of 18, Kyle created, owned, and operated his own music lesson studio. For three years Kyle taught guitar and bass at Chapman’s Guitar Lessons and provided service to the Merced county area of California’s central valley. Due to this experience Kyle has an intimate knowledge of what it takes to keep students motivated and to keep lessons engaging. Midway through his teaching career Kyle instructed five year old child prodigy King Tobias who has attracted the attention of many notable musicians such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Todd Rundgren, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Robinson, Jim Nichols, and many others. Fluent in almost all musical styles of guitar and bass, Kyle caters to students interested in rock, pop, blues, soul, R&B, funk, metal, classical and jazz.
