Leon Palad is a certified “Speech Level Singing” instructor. He attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under scholarship. He has performed roles with San Francisco Lyric Opera and appeared in the company’s production of Il Trovatore, Tosca, Werther, and La Traviata. He has also appeared in the productions of Madama Butterfly, La Boheme, Rigoletto and Barber of Seville with Bear Valley Opera and in Redwood Symphony’s production of Porgy & Bess. He was a featured soloist in Bravo! Showcase recitals in Northern California, Texas and Oregon.  Mr. Palad performed in the centennial celebration of New York’s Carnegie Hall, and several times as the tenor soloist in the Sing-it-Yourself Messiah at Davies Symphony Hall. His awards included the SF Conservatory Scholarship, Frances Ullman Award, 1st Place in the 1995 “NATS” (national association of teachers of singing) vocal competition, and the SF Concerto Vocal Award.  Some of his voice students have sang with the SF Opera Chorus, SF Symphony Chorus, SF Girls Chorus, Giants game (national anthem) and leads in bands & musical theater productions. Some of Mr. Palad’s students have been accepted to music conservatories and have won first place in voice competitions, including the all around grand championship at the “Youth State Talent Competition”, and awards, including the city of San Francisco award for young talents. Mr. Palad maintains a busy schedule of Bay Area concerts and performances. He released a cd recording of songs from the golden era called “Essential Tango”.
